Colfax School District offers K-12 education within two school buildings. The district serves approximately 700 students at Jennings Elementary School (K-8) and Colfax High School. Both schools hold high academic expectations, and include basic core curriculum as well as an honors sequence and the opportunity to participate in work-study or early college entrance at the high school level. Extracurricular opportunities exist to participate in athletic, academic, musical, vocational, and leadership programs. Newly remodeled school facilities demonstrate Colfax’s commitment to education and technology for our youth.

- Whitman County Library District
The Whitman County Library system serves throughout Whitman County with 13 branches. The Colfax Branch is the headquarters for the district and offers wi-fi Internet service, as well as Internet access through their computer program. The district has an Interlibrary Loan program with WSU, U of I, Neill Public and Latah Free Libraries. The branch offers children’s programs and a 24-hour reference service.
